Introduction

Background of Institution
MASTERSKILL College of Nursing and Health was established with the noble mission of becoming the premier college in providing holistic education in Nursing and Allied Health for the national and international healthcare industry.

Advancement and dissemination of knowledge promotes the ultimate objective of seeking excellence through continuing achievement and improvement in the quality of MASTERSKILL College?s teaching, clinical practice, and service.

Further, the college aims to contribute to the nursing profession and to meet the health needs of the community and the nation. It prepares graduates to function effectively in multifaceted roles in a variety of settings to promote the health and well being of people. It strives to instill a spirit of inquiry, encourage academic excellence and foster life-long learning in all students.

MASTERSKILL College aims to become the premier college dedicated to developing competent and high quality healthcare professionals for the national and international healthcare industry.

Objectives

  • To assist the government, mainly the Ministry of Health (MOH) in training and producing adequate qualified professional nurses and allied health graduates to meet the demand at various government hospitals throughout the country.
  • To train and produce qualified nurses and paramedics for the private sector.
  • To provide opportunities to the younger generation to develop a successful career in nursing and healthcare.

    • graduate as a Registered Nurse

    Entry Requirements

    • Age 18 years and above

    • Male or Female

    • SPM with credits in : Bahasa Melayu, one science subject and two other credits, not inclusive of Literature subjects

    • STPM students are encouraged to apply

    • Proficiency in English will be an advantage

    • Must be in good health & pass medical examination
       

  2. Medical Imaging (Radiography)
    Diploma in Medical Imaging (Radiography)

Academic Facilities & Resources
Computer Labs

  • Modern ICT Labs
    Up-to-date ICT facilities with high speed Internet Connections. There are FOUR (4) Computer Labs powered by Pentium PCs.
  • IT Challenge for Nusing & Health Care Professionals
    Students are taught general computer skills, computer applications and selected Healthcare based applications, i.e. Hospital Information & Technology (HIS).

Skill Lab
Anatomy Lab/SLP
As part of the learning process, students may be asked to perform a health service or nursing skill on a classmate or be asked to have a student perform on them.

Student nurses use skills lab 1 at various stages of their training to prepare them for working with real patients, both at the wards and in the community.

Simulated Ward
Nineteen (19) bedded ward is designed 100% similar (compliance) to ward set-up at established hospitals

The students are exposed to a hospital environment, ward regulation and procedures, filings, bedside nursing, recording, investigation, treatment and counselling.

There are TWO (2) Simulated Wards and each ward can accommodate 30 students.

? The Perdana Ward

Students are exposed to a hospital like environment with the objective to enhance their skills by practicing all the nursing procedures until they develop a high level of competency and confidence

Tutorial Rooms (TR)
There are twenty four Tutorial Rooms which can accommodate 50 to 100 students per unit.

Library / Resource Centre
The library / Resource Centre is updated with the latest books and materials in healthcare industry, nursing and radiography and etc. The Virtual library contains over 5,000 titles which students can access via the Internet. The library proper with broadband internet connectivity can accommodate up to 250 students.

Student Support Services & Student Development Activities
The College offers student support services and clubs / societies for the students? welfare and recreational activities.

Outline of Scholarships/Financial Aids
Scholarship & Study Loans are available to MASTERSKILL College?s students. They are:

  • PTPTN (BJ2) loan granted for all eligible applicants for the entire duration of studies.

  • Scholarship available for deserving candidates.

  • Sponsorship is given to candidates with good SPM results.
